Yashica MF-2

#film   #mural   #urban   #Ottawa

I recently purchased a Yashica MF-2 35mm viewfinder camera. It came with a roll of film already inside, but the pictures developed from it were unusable - possibly because the film door had been open and the film exposed to light too many times. I inserted a new roll, and I got some really nice shots out of it.

The camera is best used for well-lit situations (outdoors, especially); when it works, the flash is adequate in poor lighting, but the pictures are mediocre. The outdoor shots I got on a bright, sunny day came out great, if a little over-exposed. There's not a lot of control with this camera but it produced some nice shots.

My favourite shot is the Westboro Village sign, with the Little Bones restaurant sign a close second. Both of these photos show off some bright colours and had decent exposure. The full album is embedded below and you can click-through to see the full album on Flickr.

Shot on Kodak Ultramax 400 film.
